Hey ECXers!
I don’t know about you, but January really surprised me. With the usual reputation for dragging on, this one flew by in a blink. I think this is a sign that 2025 is ready to break all the rules. I’m not here to give you a motivational speech, but I’ll say this: this year might just be the one where we defy all expectations.
Since we're all about breaking norms this year, consider this newsletter an early Valentine’s Day gift—because you’re truly special to me, and I want to show some love. So here, have some flowers 💐. Who says Valentine’s Day is just for lovers anyway? Let’s rewrite the rules and celebrate without all the pressure. In fact, we're looking at all those “relationship people” like this:
Now, let’s not get too distracted by the celebrations. Unilag students, here’s your subtle reminder: just after Valentine’s Day, our exam invigilators will be giving us that same stare. So, while you’re busy receiving gifts and maybe blushing (who says Black people can’t blush? 🤭), don’t forget your books. Their reward lasts, and trust me, you’ll thank yourself later.
Happenings at ECX
January was nothing short of inspiring at ECX! We'd like for you to know that our training sessions are nearing completion and once it's fully wrapped up, our trainees are leaving with something they didn’t have just a couple of months ago: a brand new skill set. But that’s not all—there’s so much more in store for YOU this year.
February has arrived, and with it, an exciting new challenge. It’s time to turn all that inspiration into something bigger.
Introducing: 21 Days of Code
This is the time of year when coding gets competitive, thrilling, and full of growth opportunities. To all the coding enthusiasts and gurus, brace yourselves; word on the street is that this challenge will be unlike anything we’ve seen before.

In Other News
One of the most exciting trends of 2025 is the rise of low-code/no-code platforms. These tools are making tech creation more accessible, allowing individuals with minimal coding experience to build apps, automate tasks, and design websites. For developers, this means more time to focus on complex, high-level projects while leaving the simpler tasks to the platform. But as these platforms grow, could they change the landscape of traditional development jobs? Something to think about.
Now it's time to 👇
