March - A Month of New Beginnings.
ECXers, February was a number of things: Love, buzzing news, and drama. If you’re a UNILAG student, then it was also the dawn of something not aforementioned: EXAM SEASON! There’s a belief that there’s calmness at the centre(eye) of a destructive hurricane. Well, that destructive hurricane can be classified as the panic of exams, and all students, except year 3 students, are at the centre of the hurricane. There’s presently no calm for those year 3 guys.
From the last-minute revisions to the clutch 'Aguero' moments in the exam hall, every moment is a reflection of hard work, perseverance, and a willingness to succeed.
But in all these "rogbodiyan", always remember to prioritize your mental health, reach out for help if you need any, drink water, and put in YOUR best. Remember that at the end of the day, that's what really matters. Nonetheless, ECX wishes you success in your examinations!❤️

Happenings At ECX
February has been an exciting and eventful month for us at ECX. Our training classes have officially wrapped up and we are thrilled to see our students gain key skills that will help them thrive in the tech industry. Additionally, the 21 days of code challenge is set to kick off soon and we're so delighted about it. And finally, as the most interesting news, one we’ve been anticipating for so long:

The bull has refused to run, giving the bear a run for its our money. If you don’t understand that, then this paragraph might not be for you. It’s red season in the crypto space, as the heavyweight BTC is falling, and it’s safe to say it’s not a good time to be a crypto bro or sis. The true future of cryptocurrencies remains unknown as new speculations are emerging; some calling this occurrence a necessary experience while some are losing faith, and fast.
I'm sure you've heard about the now-popular DeepSeek R1 AI Model. There are a lot of speculations around this new AI Model. Some say that this AI model significantly surpasses its predecessors like ChatGPT and Claude AI. But is this really true? Now, I'm no AI genius, but here's what I know about DeepSeek R1:
DeepSeek-R1 excels at Math, writing code, and solving programming-related problems. It is cheaper for a premium subscription. It also shows its “Chain-of-thought” process so you see how it solves problems. Lastly, it's open source, enabling researchers and developers to access and improve upon its capabilities.
While it's an efficient AI model that can significantly help in handling the above tasks, remember that AI is meant to help humans handle repetitive tasks, whilst humans can focus on real-world problem solving, not the other way around.
